JL14 GCash Deposit Verification: Matching Names, Amounts and Reference Numbers

The four details an operator checks

• Name: the GCash account holder should match the name registered with the operator.
• Amount: what you send should equal the amount you entered in the cashier, to the centavo.
• Reference number: the GCash receipt reference ties your payment to the deposit request.
• Account status: a fully verified GCash wallet has higher limits than a basic one; check your current limits inside the GCash app.

Operators may also ask for ID and a selfie under their own KYC rules, often before a first withdrawal. The exact trigger varies by operator.

Example 1: when the amount sent doesn't match the request

1. You create a ₱500 deposit request in the cashier.
2. On GCash you type ₱50 by mistake and confirm.
3. Shortfall: ₱500 − ₱50 = ₱450, so the payment cannot be matched automatically.
4. Support must review the receipt; depending on the operator, they credit ₱50 or ask you to cancel and resubmit.
5. Meanwhile ₱50 is out of your wallet and not yet playable, which is 10% of a ₱500 weekly budget waiting on a ticket.
